Matcha Strawberry Milk Recipe

 Matcha Strawberry Milk Recipe

Ingredients

  • ⅓ cup chopped strawberries (frozen is fine)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar or sweetener of your choice
  • 1 teaspoon matcha
  • ⅓ cup hot water
  • ½ cup whole milk or milk of your choice

Directions:

Prepare Strawberries:

Combine the chopped strawberries and granulated sugar in a small bowl. Let the mixture sit for 15-30 minutes until the berries become juicy. Mash the berries coarsely with a fork, or blend them in a food processor until they are slightly broken down.

Make Matcha:

In a bowl start by sifting your matcha powder. It clumps easily, and the clumps can be difficult to whisk away, so this step will help make your matcha smooth, creamy & lump-free. Pour in hot water just below 175°F, Whisk vigorously until the matcha green tea powder is fully dispersed. You want to move your whisk in an up-and-down or side-to-side motion, not the usual circular pattern, in order to get your matcha to foam.

Assemble Drink:

In a serving glass, add a couple of spoonfuls of the strawberry mixture. Spoon the remaining strawberries into the glass. Add ice to fill the glass, depending on your preference. Gently pour the whole milk into the glass or milk of choice, followed by the frothy matcha. Pour slowly to maintain distinct layers if desired.

Serve and Enjoy:

Enjoy your refreshing matcha strawberry milk with or without a straw, stirring gently if you prefer a more blended flavor.
